[Company name, placeholder] ("Milra", "we") provides the Milra apps for Mac, Windows and iPhone and this website. This policy explains what data we process and why. Our address: [Company address, placeholder].
1. What stays on your device
- Speech recognition. Milra runs Whisper on your device. Your microphone audio is transcribed locally and is not uploaded to produce the transcript.
- Recordings and notes are stored locally on the device where you made them.
2. What leaves your device
- Low-confidence audio checks. When Milra is unsure about a short passage, that short audio clip may be sent to our cloud service to be checked, and is processed only to return the text.
- Text cleanup and AI features. Transcribed text you choose to clean up, summarise or extract reminders from is sent to our service running on Cloudflare Workers AI. We do not use your content to train models.
- Sync. If you sign in, your notes, dictionary, reminders and dictation history are stored in our database provided by Convex so your devices stay in step.
- Account. Sign-in is provided by Clerk. We receive your name, email address and user identifier. If you use Google or Apple sign-in, the provider shares the basic profile you authorise.
- Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer identifier and your plan. We never see your full card number.
- Usage counts. We count words and audio seconds per period to apply plan limits.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist we store your email address and the platforms you selected.
3. Optional analytics and error reports
Product analytics (PostHog) and crash and error reports (Sentry) are opt-in. They are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings. They do not include the content of your dictations or notes.
4. AI connector
If you create a connector link for Claude or ChatGPT, anyone holding that link can read and add to the notes and dictations in your account through that assistant. Treat it like a password. You can revoke it from the app. The assistant provider processes the data under its own terms.
5. Optional profile
During setup you may answer questions such as role, age range, country and goals. They are optional, stored as ranges or short answers, and used to tailor the product.
6. Retention and deletion
- Synced content and usage records are kept while your account exists.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page or the app. This deletes your synced notes, usage, connector links and user record, and then your sign-in identity.
- Billing records may be retained by Stripe and by us as required for tax and accounting.
- Waitlist emails are deleted on request or after launch communications are done.
- Backups and logs are overwritten on a rolling basis.
7. Service providers
We use Cloudflare (hosting and AI processing), Convex (database), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), and, only if you opt in, PostHog and Sentry. They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your personal data.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise a right, use the account page or write to us. If you are in the EU or UK you may complain to your data protection authority.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to our database is limited to your signed-in account. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Recording other people
Milra can record lectures and meetings. You are responsible for telling people you record and for getting their consent where the law requires it.
12. Children
Milra is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
